Kimberly Davis Basso is a native of Massachusetts. Her first book, the irreverently titled "I'm a Little Brain Dead"chronicles her medical adventures after a stroke. She is currently writing the prequel as well as an adventure series for young adults.

Kimberly spent nearly twenty five years as a stage director, playwright and producer. As a resident artist, high school theater director and artistic director, she developed theater education and play writing programs, working with artists of all ages. A number of her scripts are available for production.

In 1991 she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross. She subsequently moved to San Francisco where she worked with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, the California Shakespeare Festival, Crowded Fire Theatre Company, Thrillpeddlers, and others, and worked extensively as a fight director and stage combatant with Dueling Arts International. In 1998 she founded Atlantis Playmakers in the Boston area. She developed the Studio program, a theater arts training program for all ages, as well as the Short Attention Span PlayFEST (1999-2011) and the New England Fringe Festival. During that time she made several additional moves, including Miami, Los Angeles, New York and finally in 2014 back to Los Angeles. Kimberly earned her secondary teaching credential while in Florida and ran the theater department at Pembroke Pines Charter High School.  Other day jobs included helping to found a start up in Silicon Valley.

Kimberly currently lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband and two children.
